theSlacks announce a new 4 date tour to release their latest album " Information Ape" which just happens to coincide with NZ Music Month.

It takes more energy to get a stone rolling than it does to keep it rolling and the same applies to a Slack. But what better reason than to release their third, full-length studio album?

Starting with an intimate gig at The Liquorland Courtenay MOST FM Lounge on release day (3rd May), the band plan to play songs from the album and chat about their motivations. The Most FM and theSlacks have a relationship that stretches back many years and this gig marks a special celebration and culmination of many things.

A second gig in New Plymouth follows the following weekend (11th May) and this time it’s going to be a typical Slacks hootenanny hoedown where rock n roll meets peace and love. Not only are theSlacks going to kick it into gear for this one, we are also blessed with our own, high-flying Ngāmotu Ngeru, Courtnay & The Unholy Reverie who are set to bring the house down.

May 18 will see theSlacks return to the city they cut their teeth on with a gig at Cassette 9. Along with good friends, Rusty String Republic, theSlacks will bring a taste of their rural drift style to the urban scene.

Coromandel Town marks the fourth and final gig of the tour. Chosen because theSlacks like to get out back but also thanks to a bunch of fans who wouldn’t give up, this one is going to be special and will see the return of the Kitchen Koncert, a Slacks version of an after party jam in the kitchen (or lounge or shed or barn or backyard).
